I’ve been following Louis La Roche since his Peach EP was ‘mistakenly’ thought to be a secret production by Thomas Bangalter. I have LLR to thank for my soft spot toward French house. He recently released an EP co-producing with Patrick Alavi titled “Number One” which I find to be extremely fantastic. Disco vocals, saturated yet funky basslines, and filter sweeps. There are many artists who attempt to recreate French house, but their main focus is on the loops. LLR on the other hand, keeps it fresh-exciting with pop vibes. I’ll admit that a lot of French house is boring, but when it comes to melody and electro influence, LLR takes to cake.
